Community Standards
Safety, conduct, food listing, pickup, privacy, and reporting standards for the NeighborChef community.
NeighborChef Community Standards Version 1.2 - Effective June 7, 2026 NeighborChef is built around local pickup, trust, and clear expectations between buyers and chefs. These Community Standards explain the everyday behavior we expect from everyone using the Platform. They supplement, but do not replace, the Buyer Terms, Chef Terms, Privacy Policy, and other NeighborChef policies. 1. Be Respectful and Safe Users may not harass, threaten, intimidate, stalk, discriminate against, sexually harass, extort, coerce, or abuse other users, NeighborChef staff, or support teams. Hate speech, threats of violence, bullying, repeated unwanted contact, and conduct that targets, exploits, or endangers minors are not allowed. Users must be at least 18 years old to use NeighborChef. 2. Protect Private Information Pickup addresses, phone numbers, messages, instructions, and other private information shared for an order may only be used for that order. Do not post, screenshot, publish, distribute, or share another user's address, contact information, private messages, or identifying location details. 3. Pickup Conduct Arrive only during the approved pickup window unless the Chef agrees otherwise. Do not visit a Chef's home, food truck, pickup site, or private property outside an active order. Do not bring weapons to pickups where prohibited by law. Keep pickup interactions brief, respectful, and focused on the order. 4. Food and Listing Rules Chefs must describe meals honestly, use accurate photos, list meaningful ingredients and known allergens, honor posted pickup windows, and avoid misleading claims. Meals must be prepared, stored, packaged, labeled, and held for pickup in a safe and lawful way, including appropriate temperature control and accurate chef-provided allergen information. NeighborChef does not prepare, inspect, certify, or guarantee meals or allergen safety. Prohibited items include illegal substances, alcohol, THC/CBD products, tobacco or nicotine products, raw milk, unlicensed seafood, wild game where prohibited or improperly handled, unsafe canned or preserved goods, contaminated food, counterfeit or unauthorized branded products, and any food or item prohibited by law. 5. Buyer Responsibilities Buyers should review chef-provided ingredients, allergen information, pickup times, refund rules, and order details before checkout. If a buyer has allergies, dietary restrictions, medical conditions, or food sensitivities, they should ask the chef before ordering and use their own judgment. NeighborChef is not suitable for life-threatening food allergies. Buyers should not abuse refunds, chargebacks, referral codes, promotions, support channels, or messaging tools. 6. Chef Responsibilities Chefs are responsible for food safety, ingredients, known allergens, permits, licenses, labeling, taxes, business registration, pickup readiness, and compliance with all applicable laws. Chefs may not post meals they are not legally or safely allowed to sell. 7. Messaging and Reviews Messages, reviews, ratings, and reports must be truthful and relevant. Do not post false claims, discriminatory content, threats, private information, spam, or content meant to manipulate ratings, refunds, visibility, or enforcement. Users may not list, request, promote, message about, or facilitate sexual services, adult content, sexual exploitation, trafficking, or other unsafe or illegal activity. 8. Off-Platform Activity Do not pressure users to pay off-platform, avoid fees, bypass checkout, or move protected order activity outside NeighborChef in a way that creates safety, payment, or accountability risks. 9. Reporting and Enforcement Users can report unsafe conduct, suspicious listings, private-information misuse, pickup problems, food issues, objectionable content, or abusive behavior through available app tools or by contacting help@neighborchefapp.com. NeighborChef may use automated tools, content filters, user reports, payment signals, and admin review to detect prohibited content, unsafe activity, refund concerns, and policy violations. NeighborChef reviews reports and may respond by removing content, limiting visibility, restricting features, blocking or limiting abusive users, suspending accounts, canceling orders, holding payments, or taking other action at its discretion where permitted by law. 10. Updates NeighborChef may update these Community Standards as the Platform grows. Continued use of the Platform after updates means you agree to follow the updated standards.
